EXTREME FORCE was a C&D winner on his hurdling debut and took a step forward when third in a hot race at Musselburgh on New Year's Day (fourth has won since). There looks to be more to come from Jonjo O'Neill's charge and he shades the verdict in a competitive opener. Sarasota Star wasn't far behind subsequent Listed scorer Langer Dan on his hurdling bow at Ludlow and he merits respect, while Black Abbey, Ragnar and Guena Des Mottes add further spice to the race.
French-winner GUENA DES MOTTES showed plenty before falling 3 out in a stronger race than this at Musselburgh on his British debut and is preferred to fellow-penalised winner Extreme Force, who finished in front of a subsequent winner when third at Musselburgh. Black Abbey and Ragnar look best of the others.

The forward-going CASUAL CAVALIER managed to cling on to third off this rating at Ayr earlier this month and a sounder surface may help the veteran's cause as he looks to better that effort here. Cheekpieces are now tried on Jolie Crickette, whose best effort on these shores came over a similar distance at Sedgefield in November. Another stepping up in trip is Bering Upsun, who was sent off favourite at Hexham last month and Brian Hughes keeps the faith in the saddle.
CASUAL CAVALIER has a more solid look to him than any of his rivals so is taken to gain a deserved first victory of the season at the chief expense of Kelso winner Bering Upsun, who could have a big say if his jumping improves. Irish raider ALOHAMORA won as she liked over hurdles at Fairyhouse on her most recent outing and, having been successful over fences at Limerick over Christmas, is fancied to claim further prize money for trainer James Nash. The six-year-old is clearly versatile and is preferred to Molly Childers, who returned to a bit of form when fourth at Kempton in a competitive handicap over the smaller obstacles last month. A step up in trip helped POLA CHANCE to strike at Wetherby last week and she could go close here despite the quick turnaround under a 7lb penalty. The booking of Ben Jones is a shrewd one and the pair can prove too strong for recent course second Russian Royale, who is six years older than the selection. Global Anchor caught the eye when third at Huntingdon in October and is also worth noting wearing cheekpieces for the first time.
POLA CHANCE seemingly benefited from the removal of the hood when scoring with a good deal of authority at Wetherby 8 days ago and, wisely turned out under a penalty, she looks worth siding with to follow up. Global Anchor on return from a short break and Russian Royale are others to consider, along with Lastofthecosmics.
