SUNRAIDER looks the one to beat after his recent success over C&D as, even after a subsequent 7lb rise, he remains competitively weighted on his best form. It will be no easy task conceding weight to Mandalay King, though, as that rival won a hot race at Hamilton which has since produced three subsequent winners. Arctic Feeling (engaged to run here yesterday) may fare better now his sights have been lowered, while Teetotal could appreciate this stiff test as three of his wins have come at Pontefract. Gold Beau and Al Khan hinted that they were returning to form last time and also look major players.
Sunraider arguably scored with more in hand than the bare margin of victory suggests over C&D last time having initially encountered traffic problems when mounting his challenge. On that evidence a 5 lb rise may not be enough to prevent him from going in again. Gold Beau responded well to new headgear when third at Hamilton recently and is feared most ahead of Mandalay King and Teetotal.

THORNABY PRINCESS made a winning return to action on her first start in handicap company at Ripon and a 6lb rise could prove lenient if she can use that as a platform for further success. Red Forever opened his account at Redcar and a 6lb penalty may not curtail his improvement, while Tinsill scored with cut underfoot at Hamilton but looks versatile with regards to ground conditions and could also figure as he has won on a faster surface in the past. Ty Cobb may fare better now moving into handicaps and Lexington Rose is entitled to strip fitter for her Nottingham reappearance.
Red Forever's confidence will have been boosted by his breakthrough success at Redcar and Tinsill is in good form, but Thornaby Princess looks the one to be on. There was much to like about her reappearance victory at Ripon and, though she needs to pull out more in order to defy a 6 lb rise here, she remains unexposed.

ECHO OF LIGHTNING was sent off favourite at Musselburgh but could only manage sixth from one of the widest stalls. A further 1lb drop boosts his chances this afternoon and he is preferred to Dansili Dutch, who didn't look straightforward at Hamilton but is just 1lb higher than her last winning mark and capable of making her presence felt if putting her best foot forward. Staffhoss was tried over further at Redcar and may fare better now dropped back in distance.
Echo of Lightning has strong claims judged on his victory at Musselburgh in April, but he hasn't managed to match that level since. Dansili Dutch is holding her form well and should be in the mix, while Staffhoss is by no means a forlorn hope, but it could be worth chancing Rasselas in the hope that new headgear sparks a return to his best.
