DIAMOND D'AMOUR was punted as if defeat was out of the question here last time but folded tamely having made the running. He had previously looked a progressive performer in routing Smart Act over C&D and when a very pleasing second to Stormy Weather at Newcastle. He is worth another chance. Crescent Beach is an obvious threat and will find this company somewhat easier than when beaten a long way by Grumeti last time. His previous effort when a respectable second to the useful Absinthe is a better barometer of his ability. Formulation is progressing nicely but looks more of a handicap project.
Diamond D'Amour and Crescent Beach readily make the most appeal of those with hurdling experience, with the latter marginally preferred back in novice company. Mr Puck is also of interest now hurdling.

DEGAS ART has done well since joining Cheltenham Festival-winning trainer Lucinda Russell and came home an easy winner last time at Kelso, with Chester Lad easily swept aside. However, the precise opposite had happened when the pair clashed at Newcastle in January. It's anybody's guess what will happen here but we'll stay with the most recent form and take Degas Art to confirm placings. There's no doubt that Bogside has the ability to bustle up the front two but he is not proving the most reliable of conveyances at present.
This will likely be decided on the jumping of the front trio, with Bogside, Degas Art and Chester Lad selected in that order.

Any number with decent form claims, not to mention some interesting unexposed sorts in Samstown, Mountain Hiker and Hada Men. The market should reflect stable confidence regarding the trio but NOWURHURLIN looked on the upgrade the last time when scoring here on heavy ground, giving the impression that he'll not be inconvenienced by the step up to two and a half miles. The yard is in fine form and he can supplement latest gains. Tarn Hows is respected despite top weight whilst Simonside is not ruled out having been cut a little slack by the handicapper.
Plenty of possibles here, but Ros Castle appeals more than most with the prospect of added improvement for going back up in distance. Hada Men is lurking and another bound to benefit from this test, while Tarn Hows has a touch of class compared to most and may find a bit extra for first-time cheekpieces.

RIGADIN DE BEAUCHENE disappointed recently when a beaten favourite at Fontwell but it's interesting that Venetia Williams returns him to the track quickly and the hint is taken with this confirmed stayer. Vamizi went well here last time and is another whose stamina is guaranteed and he's expected to go well despite not having scored for a couple of years. He's on a fair mark too. Do It For Dalkey pulled up in that race but that was clearly not his form and a return to his previous consistency would see him bang there. Fabalu and Sound Accord are also considered.
An interesting contest in which Do It For Dalkey will pose a serious threat to all if recapturing his early-season form. However, given his below-par effort last time, marginal preference is for Sound Accord who bounced back to form at Huntingdon earlier this month and remains well treated on past exploits. Fabalu is likely to prove best of the rest.

There is no better trainer than Venetia Williams when it comes to running up sequences with handicappers and the general advice is to keep supporting them until beaten. SUSTAINABILITY is a prime example of her talent and the lightly-raced Old Vic gelding is taken to make it four on the bounce after battling on well to score over C&D last time. Granville Island looks to have been prepared with a handicap campaign in mind and would be very interesting if attracting significant market support. Pete and See The Legend are also worthy of consideration.
This looks a straight match between Sustainability and Granville Island. Sustainability sets the standard, though marginal preference is for Granville Island, who looks the type to come into his own now contesting handicaps. See The Legend may prove best of the remainder.

AGGIE'S LAD is the obvious one but wasn't at his best last time when fading late on at Kelso. However, he's afforded another chance as the overall level of his form is the best on offer by some distance, notably a convincing win in late spring last year at Aintree. He was also not disgraced in the Hunters Champion Chase at Stratford when a close-up sixth. Special Portrait is a consistent performer in these contests and seems sure to be involved again. Bright Cloud has won her last two points but needs to translate that form to regulation fences which she jumps for the first time.
C&D winner Aggie's Lad will strip a lot fitter for his recent reappearance and is likely to prove too strong for Special Portrait. Dual point winner Bright Cloud is clearly a youngster with potential and looks easily best of the rest.
