Heer's Sadie failed in her bid to complete a hat-trick when well beaten at Yarmouth on her most recent start, but she might be worth another chance. Even so, RIVER WHARFE looks the way to go. Tony Carroll's seven-year-old finished a close third over 7f here last time and will have no issues with this extra furlong. He was kindly dropped 1lb for that effort and may take full advantage. Blenheim Star looks best of the rest.
Top Brighton trainer Tony Carroll could potentially have four runners in this contest, and his runner RIVER WHARFE could be the answer here. A winner at this venue back in May, he has been running well at Brighton since then, coming 4th on two occasions before going on to come 3rd last time out. His trainer will want to win as many races as he can at Brighton this week, and this could be a good start for the yard on the 2nd day of their meeting. Heer's Sadie was in cracking form before her last run, when she won at Yarmouth twice. She did disappoint when coming 9th last time but is the sort to bounce back to form here in this. And Poetic Force can fill the places for Tony Carroll, who could have a very good start to the day here in this race.

MIAKODA has filled the top two places in each of his last three starts, most recently at Epsom, and goes off the same rating. James Owen's three-year-old looks well placed to continue his brilliant form. Medinilla occupied the runner-up berth in this grade at Catterick last month and should remain competitive, while Mumayaz is another to keep an eye on.
MUMAYAZ has been in decent form this season, and he was a winner off the mark of 71 at this venue back in April. Just 1 lb higher in the weights for this, at a venue that he runs pretty well at, he could be hard to peg back if on song today. LEXINGTON KNIGHT has won both starts since returning from a short breaK and as he is already a dual C&D winner, Richard Hannon's consistent seven-year-old has a strong chance of completing the hat-trick. Having to concede 18lb to fellow course winner Voix De Bocelli complicates the matter and the betting market could be informative where Henrietta Knight's representative is concerned. Manara and Sugarloaf Lenny complete the shortlist.
VOIX DE BOCELLI has been in good form at present, with two wins at this venue back in April and May. The Henrietta Knight runner clearly loves this venue, given the fact he always seems to run very well at it, especially recently. A 2nd over 1m2f at this venue in July, this step up in trip should pose no issues for this horse who has been in cracking form of late. He could be pretty hard to peg back in this. Annexation hails from a yard who are known to do very well at this venue, and their runner has been running well lately without actually winning. He can run well here and land another place effort for the team. And Manara is a young, unexposed runner who could go well but does need to bounce back from a disappointing effort last time when sent off as a short-priced runner. But she can go well in this and fill the places.

SAXON LAND came good with a first-time visor added in a similar race at Yarmouth last month and could again be hard to reel in if the retained headgear has the same impact. Fighting Poet won a couple of handicaps at this venue last year and would be a big danger to the selection if recapturing anything like that sort of form. Foinix and Yarborough are the pick of the remainder.
SAXON LAND landed her first career victory in a classified contest at Yarmouth last time out; she did have to scrape home that day; however, she did make it all and did keep on gamely towards the line. The head victory meant that she only got a 1 lb raise in the weights; therefore, she can easily make it back-to-back wins for the very first time for a yard that is going well at present. Yarborough is yet to win a race in his career, but he has run well on a few occasions, and he has crept down to a workable mark; he can run well and claim 2nd place here. NEPTUNE LEGEND is versatile regarding distance is an attractive proposition on the back of a return to form over an extended 5f at Bath last week. This is no tougher and the step back up to 7f is unlikely to cause the Tony Carroll-trained gelding too many issues. Shot Of Love and Voodoo Ray are not without hope at this modest level and each merits close inspection in the betting.
NEPTUNE LEGEND hails from one of the top yards in these parts; therefore, he will be primed and ready to go in this race. A winner of a classified stakes at Bath last time, he destroyed the field by an easy 5 lengths in the end and does come into this race with an 8 lb raise in the weights; however, given the nature of how he landed the race last time, it could be said there is more to come from him now once again with his head in front. B Associates was also a winner of a classified contest last time but was nowhere near as impressive, but he does come into this with no raise in the weights. However, he might have to settle for a 2nd-place finish behind a Tony Carroll runner who is sure to do well. And Voltaic has been running ok at present; he can go well and fill the places for the king of Brighton, Tony Carroll.
