FLY SILCA FLY steps down considerably in grade after finishing down the field in the Chesham Stakes at Royal Ascot last time and is better assessed on her previous outing when second to Amary in a Newcastle maiden over this trip. The daughter of Hawk Wing is preferred to Velvet Band, who looked nailed on for a maiden when just touched off by White Daffodil over the minimum distance at Nottingham. However, she disappointed last time when unplaced in an ordinary Warwick maiden and may be best watched for now. Gold Fix should be sharper for her Newbury debut earlier this week.

MY LEARNED FRIEND has found life more difficult since being punished by the handicapper for two comfortable Lingfield wins last summer, although continuing to perform perfectly respectably. He has steadily returned to a more workable mark and went close over C&D last month when only beaten half a length by Patavium Prince in a similar contest. He can go one better here. Golden Prospect scored over C&D last month and was not disgraced in an amateur handicap subsequently. He looks the main threat, with Hypnotic, another recent scorer at the track, looking the likeliest of the two Jim Best entries.

This looks a good opportunity for SUNCELEB who has shown plenty of promise in three maiden runs to date for Hughie Morrison. The daughter of Arc winner, Peintre Celebre, gave a solid account in what may turn out to be a decent Salisbury maiden that fell to Mrs Beaton. Previously, the selection was a fair third to Say No Now at Nottingham and is preferred to Miss Kittyhawk, a promising third to In Footlights on her belated racecourse debut at Newmarket last month. She should progress again and is clearly the main threat, with Cabernet Sauvignon next best.

ATACAMA SUNRISE is returned to the track quickly after scoring at Yarmouth three days ago. That represented a significant improvement on her previous level of form and she is worth chancing for a repeat here under a 6lb penalty in a similar type of contest. With only six career runs under her belt, she should be open to further progress. Jumaana has been tenderly handled by John Dunlop to date but revealed definite signs of promise when fourth on soft ground at Yarmouth last time and she looks a certain improver. The consistent Rose Of Coma is next best.

However, a bigger danger could from Daring Dream, who is steadily descending in the handicap and suggested he could be ready to contend strongly when third at Yarmouth last time. Mystic Touch is an interesting outsider.

ITSHER (engaged to run at Leicester yesterday) is a filly in great heart and should be good enough to concede weight all round. She was given a clever ride by today's pilot when scoring over a furlong further here five days ago, being the only one to plough a furrow up the stands rail and should not be inconvenienced by the drop back to the minimum trip. Halaak, third at Newmarket latest, is steadily returning to form and should be spot-on now. She has been dropped 1lb for that effort and represents the main danger to the selection. Pressed For Time looks pick of the remainder.
