Literata won well over course and distance in July and would be hard to beat if turning up in the same form. FAMILYOFROSES has been going very well recently and this is a good opportunity for her to get her head in front, while Jules N Rome is best of the rest.
Congenial and Upgrade are two leading contenders in this grade, with a preference going to the latter as his a more reliable option. SINATRA showed good form when winning a similar contest over C&D in July and a repartition of that form will have him thereabouts.
INDIAN TRAIL looked to have bumped into a smart rival when runner-up at Saratoga in July and can earn compensation here. Godrevy trailed the selection two starts back but has run a better race since then, and the debutant Candour deserves closer market inspection.
APACHE WARRIOR was only just denied in a more valuable race at Saratoga in August and could prove tough to beat with her sights lowered. Chico Grande is feared most on his first start since a gelding operation, but Hundred Percent also deserves a spot on the shortlist.
No Tunes is an admirably reliable sort in this grade, while Egyptian Magic also has decent claims. MOON MEDAL takes a big drop in class following a fair run in a 80,000 optional claimer and if she runs to form she could be a class above these.
STORMIN STEPHEN was only narrowly beaten at Saratoga last month and a reproduction of that form will see him go well. Go Go Lucky has run to a good level last time out and he should go well again, while Sherry's Miracle is an interesting newcomer and is worth a market check.
Last-time-out winner Union River has to be respected, as does the dropped-in-class Mid Ocean. Preference, however is for TAPITSPHERE. He has been hammering on the door and had African Fighter (third), U. S. S. Boxer (fourth) and Send It In (fifth) all behind when a half-length second over 1m1f at Saratoga latest.
SUMMER BREEZING is two wins from three starts since joining Jeremiah Englehart's yard last year and the form of his latest third-placed effort in a $100,000 stakes race reads well in the context of this allowance optional claimer. He can score at the expense of Saratoga Dreamer and Sleeping Giant.
MISS KEW sets the standard on her recent runner-up effort over this trip at Saratoga last time, and with more improvement on the cards, she can open her account. Lady Lucky is the chief threat ahead of U Do That.
