CASTLE RUSHEN impressed when landing a heavy-ground bumper here in January and despite being unable to follow up when returned to this venue in March, looks set for a leading role on his hurdles bow with the forecast conditions bringing his stamina in to play. Five Bar Brian's only disappointment last term came in the Champion Bumper and he has to be taken seriously on his debut for Oliver Greenall. Let Me Entertain U was another deemed good enough to contest that Cheltenham Grade 1, but has a few questions to answer following a slightly underwhelming return at Hexham earlier this month. He can fight it out with Keith Dalgleish's Big Jim Dwyer for third.

CAVALRY SCOUT had been knocking on the door at Market Rasen before dropping back to a similar distance to land a deserved victory at Leicester in February and rates as the one to beat on his seasonal bow. He was all out at the finish on that occasion but relishes testing conditions and the track is likely to suit. Roxboro Road has dropped to his last winning mark and is worth a market check as he's still in the early stages of his career with Ben Haslam. The handicapper looks to have the measure of both Calivigny and Mah Mate Bob, but the experienced pair know how to win and can't be completely ruled out, while Lucinda Russell has a solid hand with Katalystic and Book Of Invasions.

MCGOWAN'S PASS returned from a year off the track in top from last season, progressing nicely through the handicap ranks, and was last seen finishing second to the thriving Main Fact off this mark at Wetherby. Sandy Thomson's string are running well at present and the course-and-distance winner is backed to get the better of Paul Nicholls' Calva D'Auge, who was highly-tried at times last term and requires plenty of respect. Goobinator ran well for a long way on his Chepstow return and can't be ignored off the same rating, while Laura Morgan's Hasankey was a few lengths further back in that contest and could offer some value.
