QURI's impressive second at Tramore last time looks like good form and the five-year-old is fancied to improve further now with Tom Lacey. A half-sister to Brave Inca, she should do better with more experience over hurdles, and the presence of Richard Johnson in the saddle catches the eye. Derriana Spirit did it well in bumper company at Carlisle when last seen, while West Coast Lass and Keep The River are other names to consider.
Likely to benefit from this step up in trip now hurdling, bumper winner DERRIANA SPIRIT is taken to make a winning debut in this sphere. Quri shaped with plenty of promise on his first run over hurdles at Tramore and is a much-respected main danger on debut for new connections, while West Coast Lass shouldn't be far away if building on the improvement she showed at Perth last time.

It will be disappointing if SCHEU TIME doesn't win this following his most recent hurdles effort in Ireland when third in what looked a decent race. The second scored well at Cheltenham last Friday, while winner Causey Arch has held his own in much better races since. Stoney Rover unseated at Kelso on Saturday early on and deserves another chance, but Oh No and Ringaringarosie both arrive with plenty to find.
Irish raider SCHEU TIME has gone well fresh before and can't be opposed in a race where none of his rivals have any worthwhile form under Rules.

TRONGATE made an encouraging start to his chasing career when finished second at Perth behind to an Irish raider who was successful at Cheltenham at the weekend, and followed that up with a comfortable win at Kelso. He will have a big part to play here off a 7lb higher mark in the hands of the champion jockey, and should be capable of holding off Donald McCain's Bangor runner-up Ofcourseiwill. Strong Economy and Callthebarman are others to keep an eye on.
TRONGATE is easily the most appealing of these having built on his promising chase debut with a decisive success at Kelso last month. He remains open to improvement in this sphere and the booking of Richard Johnson adds to his appeal. Point winner Emerald Chieftan may step up on his hurdles form now sent chasing and is next on the list ahead of Strong Economy and Ofcourseiwill.

TOOSEY bumped into an improver at Uttoxeter last time, the fact he pulled 12 lengths clear of the third suggesting he could still be well treated despite being nudged up a further 3 lb. SEE DOUBLE YOU returned to winning ways over fences at Hexham last month and the veteran could take plenty of beating back over hurdles. Chocolat Noir had a very good chance of winning prior to slipping up on her most recent start at Cartmel and she is an obvious threat to the selection. Others to consider are Border Victor, Maureen's Star and Storm Nelson.
None of these are especially convincing and a chance is taken on STRONG RESEMBLANCE. He features on a handy marked judged on the pick of his efforts in maiden/novice events and is marginally preferred to Chocolat Noir, who was bang there when falling between the final 2 flights at Cartmel, and Storm Nelson.

That said, marginal preference is for BEACON EDGE, who represents a yard that has a very good record in bumpers at this track and his pedigree is also very encouraging.
