KELLYS EYE made a promising debut at Newcastle where he stayed on steadily in the final furlong to finish fourth of 12 behind Fortunes Of Fire, beaten just under 4L. Brian Smart's colt is entitled to step up considerably on that effort and gets the vote. Mercers Row probably ran his best race at Beverley last time when a close third to Elusive Wave and he must be respected. The experience of Olympic Ceremony could ensure that he makes the final shake-up.
Quite a few of these are open to further improvement, including Kelly's Eye, who showed enough to suggest a race of this nature is within his compass on debut. He can be number 1 here. Silver Socks should be more at home back over this shorter trip, whilst any market moves for the newcomer Amitola should be taken seriously.

It is hard to fault the consistency of BRONZE BEAU and he has a clear chance today to get off the mark at the ninth attempt. He was beaten only half a length in a maiden at Redcar last time and that form should be good enough. Bossy Kitty commands respect as the only winner in the race having scored at Ripon last month, while Powerful Pierre was just touched off in a selling nursery at Beverley on his latest outing and has claims on that effort.

POKFULHAM ran on gamely to land a handicap over C&D recently and this improving three-year-old looks capable of doubling his tally. Jim Goldie's gelding had done plenty of his racing at Ayr and will be perfectly at home here. Moonage Daydream on the other hand makes his first visit here but he has run well the last twice and rates a danger. Social Rhythm won over a mile in August and she should be staying on strongly at the finish again.
A case can made for virtually every runner, but it may be worth chancing This Ones For Eddy, who looks really well treated. Moonage Daydream and Social Rhythm head the list of possible dangers.

WELLS LYRICAL is a worthy top weight and he rates the selection for Brian Smart's stable. He has run well in all three races this year and is taken to stay on best for a well-deserved win. Amanda Carter showed her liking for this course with a wide margin win in a valuable race over C&D and should be thereabouts again. She had Dazzling Light and Hunting Tower behind that day and can confirm the placings with that pair. Elsewhere, Quai d'Orsay would have claims if recapturing his best form.

ASK DAN seemed to come back to form when beaten just a neck in a claimer after attempting to make all the running at Catterick over this trip. Michael Dods' gelding can go one better today. Bertie Vista seldom manages to win but he should not be very far away in this sort of company, while similar remarks could be applied to Ingleby Princess as well. Top weight Soto will be doing his best work at the finish.
Ask Dan remains well enough treated back in a handicap following his good run in a claimer last time and could prove difficult to peg back if allowed his own way in front. SHUNKAWAKHAN showed signs of recovering his form when a fair third to Ancient Cross at Musselburgh and he could pay to side with him as he bids for a long overdue win. Carnival Dream faded out badly last time but that effort could be overlooked and he is best judged on his two second places previously. Imperial Echo enters the argument judged on his C&D victory, even though it was gained a long time ago .
With so many doubts surrounding the majority of his rivals, Shunkawakhan need only run up to the level of his recent Musselburgh form to go close. Mr Lu and Imperial Echo could provide the sternest opposition.
