CONEY ISLAND was one of the leading novices in Ireland last term, winning the Grade One Drinmore Novice Chase at Fairyhouse before finding only Our Duke too good at Leopardstown when searching for further Grade One glory. The choice of Barry Geraghty, this is the perfect opportunity for him to showcase his well-being. Adrien Du Pont made a pleasing start to life over fences at Fontwell but was put in his place in Grade Two company at Newbury and will need to improve to figure, while More Of That has plenty of questions to answer nowadays and the former World Hurdle winner has not been at his best for some time.

Unowhatimeanharry has been the one to beat in this division over the last 12 months, but he had his colours lowered at Newbury last time and needs to prove he is back to his very best to hold off a competitive ensemble of rivals who have gathered here. Lil Rockerfeller and L'Ami Serge finished first and second here in the shorter Ascot Hurdle last time and both hold leading claims now back up to what should be a more suitable distance, while Sam Spinner must be given serious respect following his Haydock rout of a competitive handicap field. The Worlds End was well beaten on that occasion but can be forgiven that run, and was a leading novice at the distance last term, but it may be best to take a chance on the progressive five-year-old THOMAS CAMPBELL. The Seven Barrows inmate has seen the penny drop this season, and has looked much more the professional when taking two top Cheltenham contests in the style of a top-class performer. The highly-regarded youngster has exhausted his time in handicap company and may be about to make the step up to dining at the Graded table.
