MISS MEXIQUE was disappointing here early last month but she's capable of so much more and the drop back to a bare mile could see her recapture the winning thread. Money Magnet and Sky Fever look most likely to strike if the selection doesn't live up to expectations.
SMOKIN CANDY hasn't had things go his way on his last two starts, encountering trouble at the start last time, and he could be worth another chance back down to 6f. First Verse has form in the book that suggests he should be competitive at the very least, while Offshore Score might prove to be the pick of the newcomers.
STEPHANIE JAYNE opened her account in good style over this C&D last month and providing she continues to progress as expected, the others might be in trouble. Ba Ba's Bunch has only raced once since September but must be accorded respect, while Royal Sighting completes the shortlist.
This represents a huge dip in class for ROMAN RENEGADE and although a flop when favourite at Parx last time out in November, it would be no surprise to see her gain a confidence-boosting triumph tonight. Say Toba Sandy and Lights Out Lisa bring solid form to the table but only at a moderate level.
This can go the way of LUNCHWITHGODZILLA, who was a shade below par last time but had shown up really well when finding only one too good on her first two starts. Sally's Dream is more exposed but has shown enough to merit respect, with Pgonia possibly the pick of the newcomers, representing an in-form barn.
MY SNOOKIE'S PAL was running really well in better company when last seen and although unlikely to resume at the very peak of her game following five months off, she probably won't have to. Deputy's Citizen is proven in this grade and makes appeal, while Carmella Cee needs to put a poor run behind her but that's not out of the question.
TOM CAT ALLIE is taken to land the four-timer in this optional allowance contest and could still have more to offer now benefitting from prominently ridden tactics. Mineswept and Glickman make most appeal elsewhere in the field.
SPA CITY FEVER thrived here over the track and trip when landing the Alex Robb Stakes ($75,000) last time out and should follow up in what looks an average contest of paper. Uncle T Seven and Beautyinthepulpit are others to be wary of.
Mojito Mint is running to a high level of consistency at present and is unlikely to be far away, but of more interest is BLUSHING KARAKORUM, who shaped with promise when fifth over C&D on debut and is expected to build upon that effort with that run now behind her. City Vice completes the shortlist.
