WHIMSEY'S GIRL has been showing plenty of early speed in her races and struck on her fifth career start in December. If she returns in the same mood she could have too much for the class-droppers Picture Day and She's All Even.
Threes Are Wild wasn't beaten far when dropped into this grade last time and has claims, but he has over a length to make up with runner-up RESOLVE from that run and Alcina Rawles' gelding can confirm the form while going one better. Firebolt is another to consider.
Only a length separated BLIND DEVOTION, Ducasa and Moondance Joy last time but the former shades the verdict as she stuck to her task willingly once the winner had flown and may be able to dictate matters here.
SALUDA reverts to the claiming ranks after being beaten only three lengths in a valuable allowance race last time and she could land the spoils here. Bileaps And Bounds won nicely from the front latest and warrants this rise in grade, while Keep Bustin has been running with credit at this level of late.
REVEREND GREEN's winning run came to an end in a valuable allowance race last time and the return to the claiming ranks could see him back to winning ways. Hectors Pride was ahead of Because I'm Happy and Marble Falls last time and looks the biggest danger.
Zippity Zoom blasted clear of her rivals in the closing stages here last time but takes on much stronger rivals in this, including GOLDEN GEM. Richard Violette's filly was a fast-finishing second in this grade last time and looks the one to beat on that form. Coramoss ran well for second latest and is considered.
Ima Wildcat and Bensational both caught the eye when filling the runner-up spot on their latest starts, but preferred ahead of both is SURFSPUN. Rudy Rodriguez has been flying at this meet and the six-year-old got within a length on his first start since August last month.
Geaux Mets had True Bet behind when landing a similar prize to this last time, but DOCTOR DEMPSEY could be the one to be on here. Bob Baffert's entire has been very lightly raced for his age, but showed he can still sut it when a close second on his first start in 18 months in December.
PARK RANGER is likely to be a very short price, but his recent form, including when second over track and trip last time, justify those cramped forecast odds. Dark Moon ran well for second latest and looks the main danger, with El Genio also given a second chance.
