A number of unknown quantities here and it may be best to stick with Martin Pipe's ABRAGANTE. A bumper winner at Wetherby in March he has placed twice over hurdles since and should be on the scene again today. The newcomer from Jonjo O'Neill's yard, Predator, was a winner on the flat in Germany and looks the most interesting of the others.
Personal Assurance has solid claims here as he bids to follow up his Worcester win, but the 8lb rise in the weights coupled with the extra distance may be enough to stop him though. IVERAIN defied a four-month break to win last time and should have come on for that run, so after a marginal rise in the ratings he can follow up. Cassia Heights was in third behind him there and should not be far away again today.
Masters Of War is likely to be winning again soon but his recent disappointment casts enough doubt in the mind here and he is taken on. The recent second place of SILVER CHARMER was an improved performance and that run suggests she is ready for a return to the winners' enclosure this evening. Castleshane and Enhancer are both capable performers and have to be considered as alternatives.
LONESOME MAN finally got off the mark last time and he can follow up that win here as the handicapper doesn't look to have been hard on him. Moscow Dancer bids for a hat-trick and the ease of his recent win suggests he may be capable of defying a further rise in the weights. Baikaline was disappointing last time but her run prior to that throws her right into contention tonight.
Top-weight Ramblees Holly warrants plenty of respect as he bids to follow up his Hexham win over a longer trip today. BRUSH A KING goes the other way and his recent second place reads well enough here, he pulled hard that day and will hopefully settle better here. Tell The Trees was behind him last time but a reverse of the form cannot be ruled out over the shorter trip.
Silverio made a pleasing debut at Fontwell, but with the subsequent runs of those behind him largely disappointing the form looks dubious. The same cannot be said of the race won by MASTER MARMALADE last month as a couple of those that chased him home have won since and, with further improvement expected, he will take all the beating. Lindbergh Law was also a comfortable winner last time but once again the form looks questionable.
