Gordon Elliott (22 October 2024): "He ran great to finish a close second in the American Grand National last weekend. The ground got quick, and he was on his head the whole way, but he ran huge. From here we’ll be working back from the Grand National."

Gordon Elliott (09 April 2024): "Galvin is in brilliant shape, and I’m delighted with him. We’ve been training him all season for the Grand National, but the ground is a problem for him. He wants nicer ground, so this season has been tough for him. I think we’ll have to declare him as a couple of drying days could make all the difference, but it’ll need to dry out for him."

Gordon Elliott (26 February 2024): "We are working towards the cross-country chase with him. He ran very well the other day. He looks great. He had an interrupted preparation for the race last year and it was a rush to get him there, but his preparation this year has been smooth. He prefers better ground and if it came up very soft, we might not run him and keep him fresh for the Grand National."

Gordon Elliott (16 November 2023): "He’s declared for the cross-country race at Cheltenham this weekend. After that he’ll most likely wait for the Boyne Hurdle at Navan in March, then back for the cross-country race at Cheltenham in March, then most likely the Grand National at Aintree. He’s been the horse of a lifetime for his owner already, but I’d love him to win another big one. "

Gordon Elliott (12 April 2023): "He’s in very good form and will run in the Grand National. We had to rush him to get him to Cheltenham and as well as he ran there, he has definitely improved since then. He’s moving really well and looks great. We wouldn’t want too much rain for him."

Gordon Elliott (28 February 2023): "He’s been aimed at the Cross-Country Chase and he’s not one to underestimate. We had him over at Cheltenham last week to school over the cross-country track and he was very good under Jamie Codd. We’ve brought him around to various places to school him over cross-country obstacles and he seems to really enjoy it. We’ll send him over on the first boat to Cheltenham and will give him some more schooling before the race. We found a bit of an issue with his back after his last run and we think we have fixed it now. At the end of the day, he was only beaten 2½ lengths for second in the Gold Cup last year and now he’s in the Cross-Country Chase. If I didn’t have Conflated, Galvin would be in the Gold Cup, but it’s winners we want and this race gives him the best chance to win one there."

Gordon Elliott (03 November 2022): "He’s been a brilliant horse for us. He is going for the Down Royal Champion Chase on Saturday and we’re looking forward to him there. I was delighted with his comeback run at Punchestown. He gave weight away and jumped great. In fairness to him, we’ve probably been guilty of not giving him enough credit. Take A Plus Tard out of the Gold Cup and Galvin is right there in amongst the rest of them in a race that wasn’t really run to suit him. He's a talented horse."

Gordon Elliott (01 March 2022): "Galvin hasn’t done a thing wrong all season. At the start of the season, I thought he might be more of a Grand National horse, but he’s improved week in, week out. This year’s Gold Cup is a race with questions next to most of the contenders. I suppose the only question next to Galvin’s name is that he might lack a gear, but since his win at Leopardstown’s Christmas meeting, we’ve been working him with a sharper type of horse and his work has been very good. We know he stays, he loves Cheltenham, he relaxes, he jumps. If he’s within firing distance of them over the second-last fence, you know he’ll come home strong. He wouldn’t be one I’d compare to Don Poli, not in the slightest. Don Poli was as slow as I am!"

Gordon Elliott (13 October 2021): "We are going to start him off in a Grade 3 chase at Punchestown today. He has some improvement to find to get involved in the best staying chases, so we’ll soon see where he slots in. He could be a Grand National horse someday."

Gordon Elliott (14 October 2020): "Our plan is to run him in a Grade 3 novice chase at Cork in early-November and then put him away with a view to sending him straight to the National Hunt Chase at the Cheltenham Festival. He has an ideal profile for the race, and we are all happy for him to go down that route."
